She was one of the earliest settlers of this county. She was born 8 Feb 1812 in Winchester, Va and came to Rock Island in Oct 1836. She was married to Mr. Copp at the residence of Col. George Davenport on the Island of Rock Island, IL.
For the past 12 years she has been afflicted with asthma, but died from cerebro-spinal menigitis. Dr Gregg, who was her first physician and always her physician, having attended her in the last moments. Many mourn the death of so excellent a lady. A husband, four children; three sons and a daughter survive her.
