The Pattons were from Wyandotte where they raised a large family. I believe that Mr. Patton was a farmer or a merchant when they lived there. They later moved to Miami, Oklahoma and resided at 216 C SW which was next door to where I grew up. They were the best neighbors that a young boy could have and gave me many jobs mowing grass and doing other tasks. In their later years they would sit on their front porch and tell me tales of times long gone. The Pattons lived there from about 1950 into the 1960s.

Mrs Patton's first name was Ora and Mr. Patton called her "Orie." Mr. Patton's middle name was "Ora" and Mrs. Patton called him "Orie." At least this is what they told me.

Some of the children of George O. and Ora Patton were Norman, Glenn, Roy, Earl, Nadine, Pearl, Ina Mae, and Velma. I remember Velma better than the others since whe was the youngest.

I am accounting all of this from memory. I still think of these people from my childhood. They were like having another set of grandparents.
