Earl W. Praetorius

Earl W. Praetorius, 87, of Lehigh Township, formerly of Farmhill Road, Allen Township, died Monday in Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Loretta O. (Fogle) Praetorius.

He was a farmer most of his life and also a rigger at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 19 years until 1945. He was head road supervisor for Allen Township and was responsible for the construction of rural school bus shelters in Allen Township under the former Allen Township Booster Club.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late C. Daniel and Clara (Beil) Praetorius.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Kreidersville.

Survivors: Daughters, Dolores C.E. Derhammer, with whom he resided, Jeanette L. Shoemaker of Allentown, Marianne D. Brunner of Treichlers and Phyetta B. Pflugler of Nazareth; son, William E., and a brother Arthur, both of Lehigh Township; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Moorestown. Call 1-2 p.m. Friday.
