Dolores Dinning Edgin, age 86, of Springfield, TN passed away peacefully on June 17th. Dolores had a lifelong career in the music industry as a backup vocalist. She got her start in Chicago with the Dinning Sisters on a radio show in her teen years. She moved to Nashville and became involved in the country music industry. Dolores helped to form the backup vocalist group “The Nashville Edition” and the group performed on nearly every country music album in the 60s and 70s. The group was hired by Hee Haw to be the shows in house backup vocalist group for 25 years. In 1980, Dolores helped to form the Music City Christian Fellowship, a group that helps to organize and host a service at the conclusion of the annual CMA Music Festival (Formally Fan Fare). Dolores is preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings. Survivors include her daughter Lea Ann (Francisco) Gallardo; son Tracy Edgin; and grandson Michael Edgin. Visitation will take place at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home, Joelton, TN on Saturday from 10am until the time of service at 3pm. Interment will follow at Orlinda Cemetery.
