Elizabeth Bloodworth Hill died on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the age of 97. She was born as Frances Elizabeth in Sharon, GA in 1917 and grew up in Lakeland, FL. She was the daughter of Grover and Willie Joe Bloodworth.
She graduated from Lakeland High School at age 16 and attended Florida Southern College, and Florida State College for Women where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She married Edward J. Hill of Tallahassee in 1936 and they lived here all but 3 years of their marriage which ended on Ed's death at age 95 in 2004.

Elizabeth was one of the founders of the Junior League of Tallahassee and was its president-elect in 1951 when she and Ed moved to Gainesville and he started UF law school at age 41. After returning to Tallahassee, Elizabeth continued to serve in the Junior League and on the Junior Museum board, and was treasurer of both organizations.

She was a long-time League sustainer and proud member of its "Loonies" comedy troupe. She was a member of the Town Club and the Cotillion Club, and was active in Trinity Methodist Church Circle No. 1 and her garden circle. She particularly loved bridge, sewing and leisure time at the Mandalay Lodge on the Aucilla River.

Among various friends, Elizabeth was Libba, Betty, or Lib; within family, she was Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother or Missy. She is survived by her three sons: Edward Joel Hill, Jr. and Paul Francis Hill (Mollie) of Tallahassee; and Wayne Shelton Hill (Kathleen Purvis) of Charlotte, NC. She had six grandchildren and three great grandchildren: Ashleigh Hill Buhler (Bret) of Duluth GA, and sons Blake and Tripp; Justin Lasater Hill (Heather) of Austin TX; 2LT Lawton Edward Hill USAF (Emily) of Yokota AFB, Japan, and daughter Josephine Jordan; Katherine (Katie) Hunter Hill of Boulder, CO; and Christopher Edward Hill of Charlotte, NC. She was predeceased by her three brothers: Grover Jr., Wright and Allan Bloodworth; and her grandson, Elliott Joel Hill.
The family expresses its gratitude for the support of personal caregivers, Selena, Lesley and Phyllis Smith, and the staff of Big Bend Hospice and Westminster Oaks Retirement Village.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19 at 3:00 PM in Frances Chapel at Westminster Oaks, 4449 Meandering Way. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church "Helping Each Other" Fund, 204 West Park Avenue, Tallahassee, FL 32302. Culley's Meadow Wood Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
