Gary Lee Bell was born February 14, 1942 in Marion to Elmer Lee and Beatrice Kneezle Bell.
He married Phyllis J. Jones on February 13, 1965 in St. Louis. He was survived by his wife; his parents of Prairie du Rocher; two sons, Clifford and Alvin Bell, both at home; and a sister, Maudie Shrodes of Dupo. He was a scuttle [sic?] driver for the brushy Creek Coal Mine in Galatia. He was a member of United Mine Workers Local 2420 of Galatia.
He died on Monday, March 31, 1986 in Memorial Hospital of Cabondale. Meredith Funeral Home was in charge of burial arrangements.
