FORMER RICHARDSON RESIDENT SUCCUMBS

Edward Stevenson as former county resident died Monday at Wauneta, NE at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Bacon. he had been ill for two years. Mr. Stevenson was born Mar 18, 1860 in Sweden. When he was 17 he came to the United States and the family settled in Missouri and later came to Richardson County. He farmed in the Nims City and Dawson area for a number of years. He left this county several years ago and since had been living with his daughter Mrs. Bacon and son, Carl Stevenson at Palisade, NE.

Mr Stevenson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bacon, Wauneta, Mrs. Goldie Sutton, Long Beach, CA, and Mrs Cleo Jackson, Sheredandoah, IA; three sons Carl Stevenson, Palisade, Barney Stevenson, Shenandoah and Edward Stevenson Jr., California and 11 grandchildren. A daughter Myrtle died in 1924. The body arrived in Dawson this morning and was taken to the Kinway funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Evangelical church at Dawson in charge of Rev C. E. Nichols. Burial will be in the Heim cemetery.



Ed was naturalized in Richardson County, NE and at that time his name was changed from Gustivson to Stevenson. He married Hattie Rose Hawkins in Richardson County in 1902. They later divorced. There are no stones in the Heim Cemetery lot 157. But he and daughter Myrtle are in south half beside Fred Sample
