Graveside services for Ruby Carter, 87, of Nacogdoches will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Union Hill Cemetery at Parthenon , AK. with Bro. Jim Ayres officiating the service.
Ruby passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015. She was born on August 13, 1927, to Bruce Faught and Myrtle Wilson in Deer, Ark. Ruby grew up in Deer, Ark., where she attended Deer High School. She married Luther Carter in 1945 and they were married fifty-nine wonderful years.
Ruby enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, game shows, and watching country music videos. In her younger years she enjoyed basketball.
Family and friends were her passion and joy. She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by her loving family and a host of friends.

Ruby is survived by her sons, Bill Carter and Roger Carter and his wife, Julie; daughters, Jean Whitten, Shirley Whitten and her husband, Joe, and Debbie Wardlaw and her husband, Robert; brother, Frank Faught; sister, Lucille Herriage; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Faught and Myrtle Wilson; and her husband, Luther Carter.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Laird Funeral Home.
