Linda was born on July 7, 1948, in Salem, to James and Winifred Lakin.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Linda enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and friends, helping through volunteer work or just someone who needed help as a friend. She was active with the Girl Scouts while her daughters were involved, and volunteered at the library. Linda worked for the Grapevine Convention Visitors Bureau for 20 years in various positions.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Archer of Grapevine, Texas; daughters, Amy VanHook and her husband, David, of Grapevine, Texas, and Beth Livingston and her husband, Jeff, of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael VanHook, Natalie VanHook, Lauren Livingston and William Livingston; mother, Winnie Gay and her husband, Donald, of Lawrenceville; brothers, Eric Gay of Lawrenceville, Tracy Gay and his wife, Amy, of Vincennes, and Damon Gay and his wife, Lorraine, of New Iberia, La.; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family.
A memorial service held at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
