FRONTENAC, KS – Winford D. "Doil" Cummins, 74, of Frontenac, passed away peacefully with family at his side, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.
Doil was born October 13, 1940 in Ava, Missouri the son of James and Rosie Graham Cummins and had been a resident of the Frontenac and Pittsburg area most of his life.
He was united in marriage to Connie Kay Bolinger on November 26, 1960 and she preceded him in death on September 9, 2010 after 50 years of marriage.
The couple raised three children together and enjoyed being "Papa" and 'Nana" to their grandchildren.
Doil was a very proud lifelong member for 50 years to the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union #441 in Wichita, KS. Membership was also held in the Marvin Armstrong Masonic Lodge #187 in Pittsburg, KS.
Doil was a very loving father and the best "Papa" a grandchild could ask for. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include two sons, Doil Cummins and Todd Cummins both of Pittsburg, one daughter Kellie McCully and husband Marc of Frontenac, his two "babies" granddaughters, Mollie McCully, and Chloe McCully of Frontenac, granddaughters Christian Warlop of Frontenac, Kaley Knowles of Pittsburg, Brandi Cummins of Missouri, grandson Dillon Cummins of Missouri and five great-grandchildren, one sister Annie Lane of Springfield, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cummins was preceded in death by his wife, parents, eight sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 6 pm Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac, with the Rev. Verl Strong, officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Frontenac City Cemetery in Frontenac, KS.
Masonic services will be conducted by the Marvin Armstrong Masonic Lodge #187 of Pittsburg, KS.
Friends may call after 3 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the Via Christi Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.
