Born January 12, 1925 in Hooker, Opal was the daughter of William E. and Clara H. Brown Acker. She grew up in Hooker and attended Hooker Schools.

On Feburary 29, 1941 in Liberal, Opal was united in marriage to Dradon O. Gordon. They lived for seven years in Perryton, TX but for most of their lives together, Hooker was their home.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and sewing doll clothes for the grandkids and she was a member of the Church of Christ in Hooker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, O'Donald; two infant granddaughters; one great granddaughter, Jessica Ann; two brothers, Melvin and Earl Acker; and one sister Margie Krieger.

Survivors include her husband, Dradon Gordon of Hooker; one son, Jimmy and Doris Gordon of Canute; one daughter, Veda Raff of Hooker; one brother, Lloyd and Deloris Acker of Olatha, KS; one sister, Rosie Raff of Hooker; four grandchildren, Cindy, Tim, Rhoda and Jimmy II; seven great grandchildren, Josh, Sam, Daniel, Colbert, Lancie, Cristi and Cinnamon.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Hooker with Neville Buchanan and John Maynard officiating.
