Our beautiful wife and mother, Carol Mae Davies Murphey, returned to her Heavenly Father's arms on 11 June 2015 at the age of eighty.

Carol was born 15 November 1934 to Ernest James and Tressa Bernice Seal Davies in Murray. She loved Murray and lived there most of her life.

She married Harvey Ray Bill; later divorced. She later married Gerald John Murphey on 4 February 1978. Their children are Charlene (Scott) Gapinski, Shelly Tripp, Terry (Cindy) Bills, and Mike (Birgitt) Murphey.

When Carol began tenth grade, she worked at Grants Department Store until she graduated from Murray High School. She worked for Lawrence Welk, United Air Lines, First Security Bank, and Zions First National Bank. She worked until she married Gerry and then was able to stay home and enjoy life.

Carol and Gerry belonged to a club called the Good Sams. They made many friends and loved being a part of that club. They traveled throughout all fifty states, including Hawaii and to the Caribbean.

After two years of being on the road in their motor home, they settled back in Murray. They loved the times they would go to Arizona during the winter months.

Carol loved traveling, crafting, camping, and visiting and playing games with family and friends. She had a huge love for animals. She had a great talent for cooking and baking which she loved doing for others. She is well-known for her homemade pies and caramels. She always had the most beautiful gardens. A weed wouldn't think of growing in her flower or vegetable gardens.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. She cared for her parents until they passed on; doing whatever was needed to make them comfortable and happy. She also cared for her mother-in-law for many years. Carol always made sure she gathered her family together by planning parties with lots of food and games.

Carol was an active member of the LDS Church. She held numerous positions, which included teaching Sunday School for several years, ward superintendent secretary, and a visiting teacher. One of her favorite callings was doing the road shows with her kids and being sports director for the MIA. She was a great example of Christ-like service and endured to the end.

Carol will be greatly missed by her husband, children, her dog, Susie, sixteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a grea-great-granddaughter, her brother, Dale Davies; her sister-in-law, Dawna Davies; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Susan Bills; brothers, Keith Davies and Sherman Davies; sister-in-law, Maxine Davies and Merle Davies; and her granddaughter, Cassie Trenery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Residence Care Source.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 15 June 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parkview Ward Chapel, 619 West 5750 South, Murray. Friends and family may visit preceding the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
