Colleen Elizabeth Price Blackburn, age 79 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2015. She was born on October 5, 1935, in Catawba County to the late Clarence Howard and Geraldine Elizabeth Cline Price.


Colleen was retired after 46 years working as an Administrative Assistant in the Heating and Air Conditioning industry at Ingold Company and William C. Reynolds Company. She was a lifelong member at MT. Zion Lutheran Church in Conover. Colleen served on the Church Council, the Evangelism Committee and Stephen Ministries. She had a deep love of animals and volunteered at the Catawba County Humane Society. Colleen had a sharp wit that she shared with others and passed to her children.

Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Paul Blackburn. She was a direct descendant of Catawba County Pioneer, Sebastian Cline.


Funeral services will be at 4 pm Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Conover. The family will receive friends from 2:45pm to 3:45pm at the Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Colleen’s name to the Humane Society of Catawba County or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
