Vallin Leon Albright, 76, of Davenport, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness on Thursday, June 11, 2015 in Davenport. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 4:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2pm until 4pm at the mortuary. A celebration of his life will be held following the service at the Davenport Eagles Club on West Locust in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the or Genesis Hospice.

Vallin was born August 12, 1938 in Burlington, IA; the son of Joseph and Dorathy (Gantz) Albright. He served in the Army, Army Reserves and the National Guard. He was a member of the Davenport Eagles Club. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan.

He retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation in December 1997, after 30 years of service as an inspector.

He was united in marriage to Norma Brown in 1959; they later divorced in 1962. He then married Sandra Jean Thrasher on January 5, 1963 in Biggsville, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra, daughters: Cynthia Albright, Leslie Albright and Valerie Albright, all of Davenport; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; nephew, David (Linda) Martin, Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Lynn, Chicago and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Ranea Dierks, granddaughter, Elizabeth and a sister, Caroline.
