Graveside services for Clinton E. Bennett, 50, of Caldwell Route 7, who died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at home of natural causes, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Canyon Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Officiating will be Pastor R. A. Garner of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Caldwell.
He was born Aug 9, 1932, at Eustis, Neb. He was reared and educated around Gothenburg, Neb. He joined the U.S. Army in 1950, served two years and was honorably discharged in 1952. He moved to the Los Angeles, Calif., area, where he worked until 1955, when he moved to Nebraska. In 1956, he moved to Ontario, Ore., where he worked for Producers Supply coop.
He married Joyce Slabaugh on June 14, 1958, in Winnemucca, Nev. They made their home in Ontario until 1960, when they moved to Gothenburg. In 1962, they moved to Oravada, Nev., where they lived until 1968, when they moved to Caldwell. He worked for the Black Canyon Irrigation District from 1970 until 1979, and at that time he went to work for the J.R. Simplot Company where he was employed until the time of his death. He was a member of the local Teamsters Union 670.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; two sons, Wayne and Jim, both of Caldwell; four brothers, Don Bennett of Bowmont, Calif., Max Bennett of Santa Anna, Calif., Mervin Bennett of Cozad, Neb., and Robert Bennett of Overton, Neb.; three sisters, Vivian Martin of Maywood, Neb., Erma Fedderson of Lexington, Neb., and Peggy Brown of Gothenburg, Neb.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Bennett, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
