Harry Alvin See was the son of Michael Val Gene and Elizabeth Sisneros See. He was raised in the Grinnell area where he attended Frog Pond Country School and later the School of the Blind in Vinton. During this time, he helped his brothers as a farmhand.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was married to Geneva Leighty on May 11, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri. They were blessed with a daughter, Bonnie. They lived in Grinnell
Harry was employed at OK Tire Company and later for Miracle Manufacturing. After his retirement he worked part-time at Wal-Mart.
He was a 40 year member of the Grinnell American Legion and a former member of the Grinnell Eagles Club.
Harry enjoyed his family and held a special bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family dearly.
He enjoyed tinkering on cars, mowing and socializing with his family and friends. He had traveled by car throughout much of the US.
