Harold Edward Beaver
Harold Edward Beaver, 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior and his loved ones on October 4, 2022. Harold died peacefully at his home in Caldwell, Idaho.
Harold was born December 26, 1926 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Lee Otis and Bertha Almedia Brooks Beaver (later Kinsey). The family moved to Boise in 1928. Harold's father died in 1931 when Harold was 5. In 1932, Harold and his widowed mother moved to Caldwell and lived with his extended Brooks family. In 1934 they moved to Middleton and in 1941 they moved back to Caldwell. Harold attended Caldwell High School. His school years were interrupted twice.
Once due to a long illness and once when he was drafted into the Army to serve at the end of WWII. As a result, Harold was a member of the Caldwell High School classes of 1945 and 1947.
In February 1945, he was drafted into the Army during his Junior year of High School. Harold had basic training in Camp Wolters, Texas. He was shipped to the Philippines and was among the first troops in Nagoya, Japan in 1945. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
On Oct. 11, 1950 Harold married Bonnie Marie Munson of Caldwell. Harold and Bonnie raised their family in Caldwell, LaGrande, Oregon and Boise. In 1998, Harold and Bonnie moved back to their hometown of Caldwell and renewed many friendships.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie, and his son Terry Lynn Beaver.
He is survived by his loving family: daughters Regie (Mark) Stover, Judy (Dale) Wood and son Rex (Jolene) Beaver. 8 Grandchildren: Lisa Stover, Sarah (Jeff) Rucinski, Chris (Jamie) Miller, Hoby (Jentry) Miller, Matthew (Jocelynn) Wood and Mariah (Wood) Haven, Roni Jo (Ben) Kalkman and Jake Beaver. 12 Great-Grandchildren: Alexis, Caden, Chloe, Daisy, Logan, Megan, Abby Jo, Rex, Roman, Victoria, Ruby and Bonnie Rose. Also many nieces and nephews.
Harold (Beav) was a dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He loved spending time with his large, close family. He always had a gentle sense of humor and made everyone feel special. His warm, mischievous smile will be greatly missed.
Harold went to work for McClure's Bakery in Caldwell while in high school and worked for them until 1958. He and a partner had a store at the Caldwell Labor Camp. In 1954, Harold and another partner started the City Bakery and Coffee Shop in Nampa. In 1958, he moved to LaGrande, Oregon with his young family to work for Meadow Gold dairy. In 1960, Harold moved with his family to Boise and worked at Meadow Gold dairy. In 1965 he went to work for Continental Bakery (Wonder Bread & Hostess). He retired in 1989.
Harold was a member of the Treasure Valley Christian Church in Caldwell.
A viewing with family present will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, October 12th at the Dakan Funeral Chapel. His Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, October 13 at the Dakan Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Crist.
