CALDWELL — Florence R. Madden, 73, of Caldwell, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1987, in a Caldwell hospital of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, with Rev. Doug Bailey of the Deer Flat Free Methodist Church, Caldwell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
Mrs. Madden, a homemaker, was born on June 12, 1914, at Newberg, Ore., a daughter of G.L. and Lucy Miller Armstrong. She attended grade school at Greenleaf, Idaho, and high school at Newberg. She also attended Pacific College at Newberg. She married Dwight Madden on Nov. 16, 1935, at Greenleaf. They had farmed in the Deer Flat and Huston communities for many years. Florence taught piano for many years. She also enjoyed ceramics. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was active in the choir for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight of Caldwell; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Colleen Madden of Caldwell; four grandchildren, Tommy Madden of Caldwell, Lori Sherman of Nampa, Terry Madden of Caldwell, and Tracee Smith of Nampa; and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers died earlier.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Greenleaf Friends Academy, Greenleaf, Idaho. Friends may call at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, today, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
