Lieut Allen died while serving his country in Vietnam.

He was the son of the late Percy Brooks Allen and Florence Allen.

He served for Co C in the 1st BN 8th Cav 1st Cav Div US Army
The Coffelt report indicates that Dean was the son of Florence G Allen, and the husband of Joyce, of Pompano Beach, FL. Also the father of Lance and Teresa of Indianapolis.
Allen's letters to his wife Joyce were published in Andrew Carroll's book "War Letters".

Many requests were made to findgrave member Gunthrope regarding the burial site, therefore a new memorial was made so that a gravestone photo can be obtained to complete his memorial.
