He is survived by his wife, Janet, now residing in Alamogordo.
He was a blessed man with six children: Jim, Cheryl, Gary, Marla, Doyle and Daron. He also had 25 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim served 33 years in law enforcement throughout New Mexico with the New Mexico State Police.
He retired as District 8 commander in 1985, and continued community service to each area he lived until his death.
He loved life, he treasured his faith and he leaves a legacy of integrity and honor in all those he knew.
A memorial celebration will be held at Hillsboro Community Center on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at 11 a.m.
