William "Dale" Montgomery, age 81 of Alcoa, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at his home.

Dale was a member of First Baptist Church, Alcoa for 81 years where he served in several capacities. Most recently he cherished working with the adult senior members (Believers) group. Dale was a 1951 graduate of Alcoa High School where he was an accomplished bass horn player in the high school band. He retired from the US Air Force and Tennessee Air National Guard with a combined total of 38 years. He also retired from civil service at McGhee Tyson AF Base.

Preceded in death by parents, Omer and Minnie Montgomery; sister, Phyllis Brophy and son, Dennis Montgomery.

Survived by wife, Alice; daughter-in-law, Linda Montgomery, GA; children, Kenny (Angie), Knoxville, Kevin (Heather), Cookeville; grandchildren, Jessica Nelson (Josh), GA, Kaitlin and Derek Montgomery, GA, Evan and Alyssa Montgomery, Knoxville, Landon, Weston, Easton Montgomery, Cookeville, and great granddaughter, Hattie, GA.

The family will receive friends at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Friday, June 12, from 5-7:00 p.m. with funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Clarks Grove Cemetery for the graveside service.
