Dean Farwell

Dean D. Farwell, 93, of Rushville died at 6 p.m. Aug. 23, 2006, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born June 19, 1913, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of William D. and Rose Workman Farwell. He married Helen Fern Richardson on Feb. 17, 1934, in Astoria. She died July 3, 2002.

He also was preceded in death by one great-grandson, one brother and three sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Russell of Astoria; three sons, Curtis (and Sharon) of Havana, Regis and Randy (and Yvonne), both of Peoria; three brothers, Arthur (and Virginia) of Peoria, Louis (and Janey) of Rushville and Philip of Morton; one sister, Wanda Landis of Beardstown; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was a farmer.

He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Rushville.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Gary Schluckebier officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
