Frances Elizabeth Tambke, 79, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, May 11, 2003 at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born February 19, 1924 in Taos, a daughter of John Gerard and Catherine Stegman Forck. She attended Taos schools. She was married May 16, 1944 in Taos to Marvin Theron Tambke, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1997.

She worked for the Missouri Highway Reciprocity Commission until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son: Jim Tambke of Jefferson City; one daughter: Shirley June of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Louie Forck and Jim Forck, both of Taos; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: William Forck, Raymond Forck, Herbert Forck; and two sisters: Julita Sanning and Marcella Kerperin.

Friends will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel with Fr. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St., 636-3838.
