A celebration of her life will be held in Rapid City, South Dakota on June 29, at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.
Suzanne was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on December 23, 1931, the daughter of Lyle and Olive Raben. Suzanne graduated from Rapid City Central High School and attended the University of Northern Colorado. She devoted her life to her family and provided a home that was supportive and loving. She was a prolific reader, and was able to offer a meaningful proverb or aphorism for almost any situation. She enjoyed gardening and hummingbirds. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Silver Lake Country Club in Akron for many years. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. Suzanne displayed enormous courage and strength during the last 22 years of her life in overcoming a serious brain injury from a fall. She maintained a stubborn spirit of fairness, justice and perseverance throughout her life, and a bond to the Black Hills.
Suzanne married Kenneth Cady on February 14, 1951 in Rapid City. They enjoyed a close relationship and found time for family, friends and golf trips. After Ken's retirement, they started a business together called Tan N Yogurt, which Suzanne continued to operate after Ken's death. They had four children. Ken preceded her in death on February 14, 1989.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Dick Raben. She is survived by two brothers, and her four children, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
