Womack, Lillian A.
Lillian A Womack, 94, of Chester, died Tuesday May 2, 2006. She was the daughter of the late John L. and Lillie Mae Bell Anthony, and the widow of Tommie L. Womack who died in 1979. Mrs. Womack was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Chesterfield County since 1928, where she taught Sunday school for over 63 years. She retired from DuPont after sixteen years and was the first female to be employed there. Mrs. Womack is survived by her daughters; Lillian W. "Tootsie" Hayes and husband James H. "Butch" Hayes, Jr., and Nancy W. White, all of Chester; three grandchildren, Tommie Hayes of Chester, Tammie Eldred of Tallahassee Fl, and Steven White of Chester, five great grandchildren; Rachel Hayes, Matthew Hayes, Allissa Hayes, Jayce Young and Katelyn Eldred, two brothers; Oscar Anthony of Richmond, William Anthony of Chesterfield, three sisters; Virginia Wilkerson of Cumberland, Helen Frith and Clare Castlebury of Chester. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday May 5, 2006 at the Salem Baptist Church 5930 Centralia Rd with the Rev Ron Farrar officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today (Thursday) from 3-5 P.M. and from 7-8:30 P.M. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
