Obituary

Emma Elkins, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Akers, was born July 23,1869, departed this life February 23,1919, age 50 years and 7 months. She was united in marriage to Martin Elkins, about the year 1888 and to this union were born eight children, three of whom preceded her to the great beyond. Five survive, namely, Mrs Roxie McCamment, Mrs Goldie Buttroff, Myrtle,Roy and Garis Elkins, one grandson Leonard McCamment,a husband,mother and three brothers, one sister all of New Castle,Indiana and other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. She united with the Baptist church at Gorbetts Chapel in early life and lived a constant member since. She was a kind an loving mother an companion, and will be greatly missed. Our loss is heavens gain. Deceased was laid to rest in the Kurtz cemetery Tuesday, Funeral services were conducted by Rev Weaver of Freetown
