Civil War Veteran. Served with Company I, 89th New York Infantry Regiment. Organized in Elmira NY on December 4, 1861. The 89th fought in the Battles of Camden, Antietam, Fredericksberg, Cold Harbor and Fair Oaks. The 89th was present at Appomattox Court House during the surrender. Mustered out of service on August 3, 1865.
