Catherine Ann (nee Zink) Rankl, 59, of Abbotsford, died Sunday, Dec 30, 2001, at St Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at St Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. The Revs. Al Jakubowski and Robert Everhard will officiate.
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. until the service at the church.
Maurina Funeral Service of Abbotsford assisted the family.
She was born Feb. 21, 1942, in Marshfield to Herman and Catherine (Selinski) Zink. She graduated from Maria High School in Stevens Point in 1960, and from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1965.
She worked for Portage County Social Services Department. Rankl then moved to Los Angeles, Calif, and worked for Catholic Social Services for several years.
Rankl then graduated from Fordham University in New York in 1974 with a master's degree in social work.
She married Guy Rankl Dec 31, 1976, at St Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. She worked for the Abbotsford School District for 15 years as a substitute teacher and a teaching assistant. She was also employed by Fiskars for five years.
Rankl is survived by her husband Guy Rankl of Abbotsford; her sons; a daughter; her sisters, Angela (Zink) Beni of Brooklyn, N.Y., Sandra (Zink) Carstensen of Milwaukee and Judith (Zink) Biser of Ravenel, S.C.; her brothers-in-law, Jerome (Ariene) Rankl of Abbotsford and James (Cindy) Rankl of Cheyenne, Wyo.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by a son, Adam Clarence Rankl, a brother George Robert Zink and her parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lin, Dr. Gilbert, the staff at Marshfield Clinic and Palliative Care, The Rev. Robert Everhard, Sr. Gertrude Rolfes, Fr. Al Jakubowski and her friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, there is a scholarship in her name through the Abbotsford High School.
