VERONA >> Dixie P. Cipollone, 77, Merry Street, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford, where she had been a patient for the past four days.
Born in Oneida, on May 13, 1938, she was a daughter of Albert R. and Marjorie Adle Peebles. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1955 and attended Oneonta State College.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary with Griffiss Air Force Base and also had been employed with Kanon Valley Country Club as the office manager. Dixie was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and coached and played softball.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy J. Cipollone of Plantation, Fla. and Misty J. and Jasen Devlin of St. James; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark G. Cipollone of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jack T. and Jennifer Cipollone of Verona; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Karen Frances of New York Mills, Nikki and Gerald Jarema of Davie, Fla. and Mikki and Carl li Puma of Coral Spring, Fla.; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Myron G. and Gayle Peebles and Helen Peebles, all of Oneida; and five grandchildren, Bryce Cipollone, Brooke Cipollone, Grant Cipollone, Vincent Devlin and Reese Devlin. She was predeceased by her companion, Larry Yeoman in 2008, a sister, Gail Merchant on July 3, 1992 and a brother, Albert D. "Don" Peebles on Dec. 10, 2002.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida with Pastor Michael Yeoman, officiating. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery.
