Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Junior J. Carter, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 3, 2015.

Born September 12, 1927 in McCormick to LeRoy Carter and Annie Marie Larson Carter. He was the youngest of ten children.

By age seven, both of his parents were deceased, he was raised by his older sister, Mildred Olsen, in Magna, where he graduated from Cyprus High School.

Shortly after high school graduation, he joined the Merchant Marines in June of 1949. After returning home, he was then drafted into the Army, where he served during World War II.

When he returned home from the Army, he met and married Bertha Gaisford, better known as "Sally." They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 12, 1967. Together, they had six children. Sally passed away in August of 2000.

He worked at Kennecott for thirty-seven years. Junior and Sally owned the Phillips Gas Station in Lehi and he also worked at the Deseret Industries.

Throughout his life, he loved working with children. On Sunday's, he faithfully taught at the Training Center for the young disabled children and helped to transport them from their rooms to the church.

Junior had a contagious and infectious smile that would light up the room upon his entrance.

Junior met Estella Cox in October 2000. They married on September 15, 2001 and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple on July 29, 2006. Together, they created many wonderful memories, traveling extensively throughout the country.

Junior will be very missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived by his children, Jim Carter, Linda Christen (Glen), Donald Carter (Kathy), Ruth Frenzel (Harvey), and Henry Carter; Estella's children, Denene, Tammie, Cindy, Rodney, Eric, Lance, Wade, Lori, and Heather; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended family. Preceded in death by both his parents, brothers, sisters, wife, Sally; daughter, Sarah Ann; and grandchildren.

Special thanks to Laurie and Joseph at the Mountain View Hospice Care team and Garden Terrace for their loving care.
