Sam was retired from the U S Navy and NADEP. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Fleet Reserve. Vietnam veteran. Extracted from obituary in the Florida Times-Union, May 9, 2005; and the Nationwide Gravelocator Site. Chester Sam Bass beloved husband, father and papa, passed away, May 6, 2005 at age 66. He is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Rachel, five daughters, Donna, Connie, Belinda, Vickie, and Tracy, and one son Steven, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sam was retired from the U S Navy and NADEP. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Fleet Reserve. The family will receive friends and family from 12 PM at TOWN AND COUNTRY FUNERAL HOME, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Graveside services with full military honors will be held Tuesday May 10, 2005 at 2:30 PM at RIVERSIDE MEMORIAL PARK, 7242 Normandy Blvd. **To be your friend is all I ever wanted, To be your lover is all I could have dreamed**. In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Community Hospice, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
