Our mother and grandmother, Catherine (Katie) Daywood, who continued her devotion to her heavenly Mother her entire life, went peacefully to be with her husband of 62 years Thomas Daywood, on June 3, 2015. She was born in Wheeling West Virginia on February 4, 1928 and moved to Austin Texas after marring Thomas in 1951. Katie is survived by her son, Tom Daywood and wife Henrietta, daughter Susan Daywood and husband Mike Mora, five grandchildren; Michael Daywood, Zachary Daywood, Deana Garcia and husband John, Joshua Crichton and Hannah Crichton, and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Salas and Lane McGehee, and Sister Linda Skocik. Katie volunteered with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for many years. She loved playing backgammon and Yahtzee with her grandchildren and spend many hours sharing her Lebanese recipes with them.
