In Memoriam

The angel of death has visited the family residence of A. J. Hite, and taken from their sides their beloved son and brother, Arthur Cecil, after only a few hours illness. He took a chill Monday, and was closely attended by Dr. Townsend and loving friends to the very last.
Cecil, as he was commonly called, was born Aug 18, 1889, and died Aug. 28, 1898, at six o'clock p.m. He was an industrious, bright and affectionate little fellow, loved by all who knew him and was a great favorite among all his playmates.
He leaves a father, mother, brother and three sisters to mourn his early demise. But weep not dear friends, for Cecil has only changed his place of abode from this world of sin and sorrow to a brighter home beyond the skies. Remember that the little fellow told you that he was going to die and that he was willing and wanted to go. Console yourselves with the promises of your Savior, who says "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." The little fellow himself remembered these lines, and only a few minutes before he passed away sang one verse of that beautiful song, "There is a Bright and Shining Light to Lead Me On." Then dear friends, with all assurness of his now peaceful abode, dry away your tears and try to ?? live that when you come to cross the chilly waters you can look back on a life well and rightfully spent and cheerfully say, "We are prepared to meet our Savior and our loved ones in the bright and shining portals beyond this vale, this vale of tears.
