Parsons, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Williams, Kingston Pike, Saturday night,will be conducted from the Central M.E. church Tuesday 2 p.m. The Rev. S.W.Hayne,pastor, The Rev. S.L. Browning the Rev. L.M. Gilliam will officiate.Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery under the auspices of the Cherokee lodge F.and A.M.,of which he was a member. Music will be furnished by the McEver Quartet.Active pallbearers,grandsons: Earnest and Leonard Parsons, Perry and Raymond Rule,and Baxter and Roger Williams: honorary,Dr. H.M. Lee, Dr. Jessie C. Hill, Bruce Anderson, Rev. J.B. Creswell, Rev. C.L. Hammond and Hubert H. Hagler

Richard Baxter Parson's first wife was Sarah M. Clark Parsons. Sarah died when she was twenty years old in 1876 and is buried in Claiborne or Grainger County, Tennessee. She is the mother of Thomas, John, Daniel, Amelia, and Ida.

Rev. Parsons was the Chaplain at Eastern State Hospital in Knoxville for many years.
