Rev. C. Rule Passes Away
Baptist Minister dies at his Sevier County home at age of Seventy-Three

Rev. C. Rule died this afternoon at 4:23 o'clock at his home on Sevierville RFD No. 5 four miles west of Sevierville. the deceased was born July 2, 1840 and was thus in his Seventy-Third year. The Funeral will be conducted Thursday morning at ten o'clock at Pleasant Hill Church near Sevierville. Interment will be in the church yard. He is survived by a widow, four daughters, and eight sons; as follows, Mrs. J.A. Jenkins of Knoxville, Mrs. M.D. Baker and Mrs. A.H. Tarwater of Sevierville, Mrs. Dr. Froneberger of Etowah, Dr. A.L. Rule of Park City, G.F. Rule of Boyds Creek, M.R. John, J.H., and Walter L. of Sevierville; H.D. and O.A. Rule of Etowah. The deceased was a veteran of the Third Tennessee Cavalry, federal army and was a survivor of the Sultana disaster. Wednesday, January 8, 1913 Knoxville Journal.
