Merritt R. Ladson, 82, Rose Maur Drive, Hanover, died at 8:25 p.m. yesterday at is residence.

He was a native of Sullivan County. He has lived in Hanover for the past six years. After retiring in 193, he ha lived in Mt. Dora Fla., until moving to Hanover. He had been an employee of Switzer Cummins Automobile Parts Division, Indianapolis.

He was an Army veteran of World War I, and a member of the Hanover United Methodist Church, and the Elks Lodge in Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Thompson Ladson, one daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Matonak, San Francisco, Calif.; four sisters: Mrs. Marie Shields, Mrs. Margaret Stoelting and Mrs. Melba Ferguson, all of Carlisle, Ind.; and Mrs. Mary Roteramel, Westminster, Calif.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son.

Services will be t 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Vail-Holt-Barnes Funeral Home, Hanover, with burial in Springdale Cemetery.
