Mary J. Long, 79, of Prairie Village, Kansas, caring and devoted wife and mother, died May 14, 2006 at St. Luke's South Hospital. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday May 17, 2006 at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to American Cancer Society. Mary was born November 30, 1926, in Dexter, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Perry A. Long. Mary is survived by her sister, Ann LaRosa, of Gaylord, Michigan; her daughter, Kathy Morrow, of Lawrence, Kansas; her son, Dean Long, of Overland Park, Kansas; and 4 grandchildren. Mary was a lover of nature and wildlife, as exhibited by her many wild bird feeders.
