William Clayton Sheppard, 79, of Friendly, WV, passed away on May 17, 2015 at Marietta Center.

He was born April 6, 1936 in Prestonsburg, KY, a son of the late Thomas Sheppard and Margaret Miller Sheppard.

William was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church of Sistersville and he was a self-employed carpenter.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Dean Sheppard of Lancaster, OH, William Clayton Sheppard, Jr. of Florence, SC and Todd Sheppard of Somerset, OH; daughters, Bonnie Brundage of Harrisville, WV and Brenna Sheppard of Pleasantville, OH; sister, Ethel Woyan; brothers, Alfred Sheppard, James Sheppard and John Sheppard; stepchildren, Noel Flynn, Rachel Lewis and Pamela Harris; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Sheppard in 1994 and his second wife, Betty Sheppard in 2015; two brothers and two sisters.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Calvary Apostolic Church with Pastor David Smith officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster, Ohio.
