ALFRED THOMAS GLIDEWELL
Lake Mexia - Alfred Thomas Glidewell of Lake Mexia, a retired employee of the Waco VA Hospital, died Friday at his home. He was 82.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Chapel in Mexia. Graveside services will be 2 p.m Tuesday at Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Glidewell was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Delia. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II and had retired from the Waco VA Hospital after 23 years there. He was a member of AMVETS Post 35 in Waco and Memorial Baptist Church in Waco. He had lived at Lake Mexia for the last 17 years. His wife, Flora Meece Glidewell, died Jan. 7, 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Al Glidewell of Hewitt and Mel Glidewell of Robinson; a daughter, Georgia Cobb of Lake Mexia; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed from 6 to 9 p.m. today and freom 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monay at the funeral home.
