Barbara J. Reppert, 73, of Camanche, died Saturday, November 10, 2007, at home in her husband’s arms.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Catholic Church of the Visitation with Father Richard Okumu officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Richard Gortowski, Steven Wild, Bradley Friis, Lucas Reppert, Ron Streets and Harold Jackson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home.

Barbara Joan Szelejewski was born on October 20, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Lillian (Piotrowski) Szelejewski. She was a 1953 graduate of Farragut High School in Chicago.

Barbara married Reginald Reppert on November 17, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois. They lived in the Chicago area, Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Clinton, Iowa, settling in Camanche in 1972. Barbara was a homemaker, then worked at Burpee Seed, Jim Walter Windows and 15 years at Nielsen’s Clearing House, retiring in 1991.

Barbara was a member of the Catholic Church of the Visitation and the Camanche American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included: bowling, cross stitching and gardening. Her joy in life was caring for her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Reginald of Camanche; her children, Karen Friis of Clinton, Robert (Stacey) Reppert of Camanche, and Amy (Mike) Burmahl also of Camanche; 7 grandchildren: Sarah (Beau) Brewer, Samantha Friis, Bradley Friis, Callie Reppert, Lucas Reppert, Stefanie Burmahl, Morgan Burmahl; and one great-grandchild, Caleb Brewer.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Adrienne Gortowski.
