Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on July 24, 1933, he was a son of the late John J. and Mary I. (Travers) Correira. He resided in Attleboro for most of his life and had resided in Dennis on Cape Cod for some time.
Mr. Correira was employed as a forklift operator for Mantrose-Haeuser Co., Inc. in Attleboro for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1998. Previously he was employed in the maintenance department at Wheaton College in Norton and it was there that he met his future wife, Nancy.
An ardent sport enthusiast, Mr. Correira also treasured the time spent bird watching, bowling, an occasional fun game of golf, playing horseshoes but most important to him was the time spent with his cherished family. He had also enjoyed time spent with his late feline companion, “Nicky”.
He leaves his children: Colleen M. (Correira) Birch and her husband, Timothy M. Birch, of Attleboro; David J. Correira of Groton, Vermont; Daniel J. Correira and his wife, Catherine H. (Nolan) Correira, of Seekonk and Amy V. Correira of Attleboro; his beloved grandchildren: John L. Correira, David J. Correira, Jacob M. Birch, Megan M. Birch, Jesse N. Correira and Matthew J. Correira and several extended family members and dear friends.
A Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation on Saturday, in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.
