Ronald “Ron” Dee Wright was surrounded by his family when he passed from this life in Grove folling his big fight with esophageal cancer on June 1, 2015. He was 73 years old and greatly admired for his bravery and admired for his courage.

Ron was born on January 4, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri to Roy “Chuck” Wright and Velma Mae Lane Wright. After retiring in 1998 as a manager of a retail/wholesale paint store in Fort Worth, Texas, Ron and his wife moved to Grove, OK to enjoy the lake life and to able to live in the same town as his dad. His life has been blessed with a wonderful family and many good friends.

Ron was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Ron was a member of the Grove Masonic Lodge No. 187, The Moslah Shrine of Fort Worth, Texas and The Scottish Rite of Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Wright, his mother Velma Mae Wright, and his sister Dixie Jones.

He is survived by his wife Jean of the home, daughter Amy Schott and son-in-law Mike Schott of Mansfield, Texas. Three grandsons, Hayden Moseley, Mason Schott, and Morgan Schott, all of Mansfield, Texas survive. Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joan and Keith Gentry of Austin, Texas, their son Mark, wife Linda and daughters Olivia and Sofia also survive. Other survivors include his Aunt Lola Rogers of Claremore, OK, special cousin Ace Wright II of Grove, OK, his wife Irene and their sons Trey and Travis. A special “sis” Lois La Puma of Overland Park, Kansas, her husband Don and their daughters Angela and Deanna survive and many other cousins, nephews , nieces and special friends.

Graveside services will be at Butler Cemetery in Grove, OK at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday June 4, 2015.
