STILLWATER WOMAN IS KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT
Mrs. Laura Jane Whipple was killed almost instantly Sunday evening when an automobile driven by her husband, H.C. Whipple, struck her when he was backing out of the driveway at their home and was crushed by the rear wheel which passed over her.
Other persons were in the car and Mr. Whipple thought his wife was also in the back seat. Instead she had stepped out of the car and was talking to a neighbor woman. Screams of this woman and Mrs. Whipple attracted the attention of the husband, but it was too late. Mrs. Whipple lived only a few moments after being taken from under the car, and Dr. J.B. Murphy passing at the time was called but could not be of assistance.
Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Whipple are early settlers in Payne county, coming to Ingals in 1890 from Kansas and moving there to Stillwater seventeen years ago.
Mrs. Whipple leaves her husband, a daughter, three sons and a sister.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. DuBois of the Methodist church adn interment made in Fair Lawn cemetery near Stillwater.
