Wilma Jean Foster Brooks, 70, ended her journey here on earth on June 25, 2014, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, with her family by her side.
Jean was born Dec. 13, 1943. She was preceded in death by parents, Ernie and Carrie Carte Foster, and brother, Bob Foster.
Surviving are her sisters, Janie (Gary) Stanley of Ohio and Mary Lou Taylor of Dawes; brothers, Darrell and James Foster of Sharon, Kermit (Evelyn) Foster of Oak Hill, Ellis (Donna) Foster of Ronda, Gary Foster of Florida, Ronald (Annette) Foster of Chelyan, Donald Foster of Michigan, Larry Foster of Cross Lanes, Jerry Foster of Miami and Terry (Cathy) Foster of Poca.
Special thanks to Bowers Hospice House and all of the family and friends who were by her side during her long illness.
The family is honoring Jean's wishes for cremation with no formal service. A family gathering will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Foster Cemetery, Dawes Mountain. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, is in charge of arrangements.
