Richard William Baird, age 81, husband, father, grandfather, and servant of God, returned home on May 28, 2015, once again leading the way for his family.

Born June 5, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Richard served in every part of his life from serving his country in the Korean War, to serving in many callings in the LDS Church.

He served as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple for twenty-four years, as executive secretary under the direction of five different bishopric's, and on the high council.

He diligently provided for his family, retiring from Mountain Bell Telephone after thirty-three years of service. Richard also worked at BYU Salt Lake Center for eleven years.

We will all miss your calm steady voice of reason and your influence in our lives will be felt for generations.

Richard is survived by his eternal sweetheart and companion of sixty-two years, Connie; and four children, Teresa Baird, Julie (Kordell) Howell, Amy (Todd) Hall, and Michael (Shauna) Baird; he was blessed with twelve grandchildren. Preceded in death by grandsons, Zachary and Joshua.
