Mrs. J. Niel Adam
Anna Louise Clarkson Adam, widow of J. Niel Adam of S. New Street rd., West Chester, died Tuesday at the Friends Home, West Chester. She was 81.
Daughter of the late Samuel Floyd and Elizabeth Davidson Clarkson, she was born in Clifton, N.J. where she taught school before her marriage. She moved to West Chester in 1926 where she joined Westminster Presbyterian Church, Planters Garden Club, and New Century Club.
She was a past regent, and registrar of the DAR, Chester County Chapter, former president of the Chester County PTA, and a member of the Descendents of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence and the Daughters of the American Colonists.
Surviving are five sons, James D. of Livermore, Calif.; Sinclair A., West Chester; George E. of Aberdeen, Miss.; William L. of Midland, Tex., and J. Niel Adam Jr. of Coral Gables, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. John Holdsworth of Clifton.

Funeral services for Anna Louise Clarkson Adam of S. New Street rd., West Chester, widow of J. Niel Adam, were conducted Saturday morning from Westminster Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert D. Young officiated.
Interment was in Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sinclair A., John N., James D., George E. and William L. Adam and James Boals III.
