Carmine Thomas McNatt,Age 102, passed away at Signature Nursing Home where she had been a patient since January 2012. She was a longtime resident of Westover Drive.
Born April 3, 1913, in Bedford County, married William B. McNatt, moved to Columbia, TN and they farmed on the Zion property, "Now where the school is located." Every chance she got, she loved to ride around, and go by and see where him and her lived, and also where her parents farmed.
She loved being surrounded by her family members. Enjoyed cooking meals, especially during holidays, and she loved to travel. She went to Corning, New York to visit with her sister, and to Brandon, Florida to visit her other sister. Each year, she looked forward to spending time in the Smokey Mountains. She said she felt closer to Heaven, every time she was there.
She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, enjoyed the preaching and singing, because it helped her through hard times and the week. She also enjoyed going on day trips with church members to gather strawberries or sit and watch a play from the theater in Nashville. She was the oldest member of Highland Park Church and member of Sunshine Class.
