WOMAN, 87, DIES AT HOME IN DIX SUNDAY
Mrs. Florida Ann Smith Osborn, 87, died at her home in Dix Sunday at 6:15 p. m. She was the daughter of the late William and Jane Phelps Smith. She was born in Jefferson county and married M. A. Osborn Lec. (sic.) 29, 1881. Mrs. Osborn had been a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist church since December 1882. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Miss Gretta Osborn, at home; two sons, L. R. Osborn of Kell, and N. W. Osborn of Dix; two brothers, Elder A. L. Smith of Dix and Charley Smith of Trenton; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist church, south of Dix. Rev. John D. Maulding of McLeansboro will officiate assisted by Rev. Ross Partridge of Mt. Vernon. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
