"The Warren (Pa.) Despatch(sic.) announced the death of the Hon. Samuel Boyer, at Congdon*, Pa., Jan. 19th, 1879. He formerly resided at Big Flats, Chemung County, and also at Painted Post, in this county, and was well known in the Chemung valley. The Despatch says: He died of paralysis, and was aged 79 years. Until the infirmities of age benumbed his faculties, he took an active part in politics and was all his life an active Democrat, and we believe he was honest in the business affairs of life. We are not familiar with his personal history. We know however, he has, like most active men, had his reverses and successes, but he died surrounded with all the comforts of life, and we trust he has gone to share the blessings of Heaven."
