Merl Jones age 81, of Arkadelphia, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his home.

He was born February 22, 1934 in Princeton, Arkansas. Merl was an retired general manager for the Vumore Company in Laredo, Texas. He graduated from the Drones School of Radio in Little Rock and was an electronics engineer. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

Merl was preceded in death by his parents, Porter Jones and Frances Green-Jones.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Jo Jones; one son, Lane Jones of Van Buren, Arkansas; two daughters, Sherry (Andrew) Taylor of San Antonio, Texas, Yolonda (Terry) Thompson of Malvern; five brothers, Ramey Jones, Clinton Jones, Troy Jones and Wayne Jones all of Malvern, Auburn Jones of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; two sisters, Christine Chambers of Fordyce, Arkansas, Margaret Chambers of Camden, Arkansas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The memorial services will be held at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Bro. Marvin Pate and Bro. Andrew Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Degray Cemetery.
